Animation – Gettysburg Address
A reading of the Gettysburg Address with some clever animation to boot. I know some kids who had to memorize this in Elementary school. I think this would help learning it. Gettysburg Address from Adam Gault on Vimeo.
Animation – Creature Combat IV
A fun animation very similar to the Contra one a while ago. Mouse vs. Kitty. Guess who wins? Done by a fella named Essenmitsosse.
Your WTF for the day – The Skanky Skunk
I really don’t know what to say about this video. The voice acting is pretty horrid and so is the animation. Um….yeah.
Animation – Trois Petite Points
Another splendid foreign animation. This time coming from France, this little story tells the tale of a woman who puts her needle to work to try and fix the world. A little darker than most.
Animation – Out of Sight
An absolutely adorable Japanese animation about a girl who loses her dog and goes on an adventure to find him. Very similar to Miyazaki‘s work, the guy behind Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke.
Animation – Animator vs Animation Part III
For those of you who haven’t seen these killer animated fight scenes, you can check out Part 1 and Part 2. Some of it won’t make sense unless you watch Part 2 but you should be able to enjoy the … Continue reading
Trashed Idea – Napoleon Dynamite Cartoon
Ugh. Could have done without this. It’s official: “Napoleon Dynamite” is coming to TV. Fox is giving a series order to a project based on the indie hit, one of two new teen-friendly animated projects greenlighted by the network. Fox … Continue reading
Short Film – Sintel
An amazing short film from the open source 3D modeling program called Blender. They’ve come a long way since the program’s inception and it has improved dramatically. The rendering and animation are far above almost anything else I’ve posted this … Continue reading
3D – Fallen
A 3D short from a group in Germany. It’s rather short and doesn’t have any real dialogue, though there is the Portal ending theme during the beginning. This is on par with a Pixar short if you ask me. Fallen … Continue reading
Mash-up – Dance Fortress
Props to the guy who managed to put this together using Team Fortress 2 and Garry’s Mod. The animation and dancing is freaking amazing.
3D – 8Bits
A wonderful collaboration of 3D and 2D graphics paying tribute to the evolution of video games and 3D. It’s a bit long but probably the best quality 3D animation I’ve seen in a while. Definitely turn it on HD if … Continue reading
Stop Motion – Dot
Boasting itself as the world’s smallest stop motion film, this adorable video was shot using a new lens and technology from Nokia.
Animation – Key Lime Pie
This animation is both creepy and and excellent, telling the mad noir-ish tale of a man’s obsession with a delectable treat.
Tasty Jams – “Zombie Apocalypse” by Kirby Krackle
Zombie-inspired serenade with a ukulele and fun animations? Yes, indeed.
3D – Star Wars: Solo Adventures
This is a Star Wars fan film detailing the adventures of Han Solo and how he got on Jabba’s bad side. The animation quality is fun and while it’s not Harrison Ford voicing Solo, the dialogue is spot on. It’s … Continue reading
Animation – These Pancakes are Tiny (NSFW)
This animation is a little long and takes a little while to pick up but is well worth your time. There is a great, albeit vulgar exchange at the pancake house.
3D – The Monk and the Monkey
While the dialogue and premise are pretty weak, this short 3D animation does have some wonderful color and character design. It’s been a while since I’ve posted a good 3d short. The Monk & The Monkey from Brendan Carroll on … Continue reading
Your WTF for the day – Dog Poo Flower
Someone claimed this is Korean with American dubs, and I wondered at one point whether the dubs were overlaid by someone to put it in a different context, but such is not the case. It follows the tails of a … Continue reading
