  • 3D – Grand Theft C-Armageddon

I normally don’t post random video game stuff but this is a pretty insane mod for an already insane game.

  • 3D – Yogi Bear Alternate Ending

I haven’t seen the new Yogi Bear movie but it could never live up to this alternate ending. Pretty fine quality for a fan-made video.

  • 3D – Alex Roman’s “Above Everything Else”

A year or so ago I posted an amazing 3D animation by Alex Roman called The Third & The Seventh which rivaled Avatar’s realism. Well here is a much shorter but just as talented 100% CGI commercial. Silestone — ‘Above Everything Else’ from Alex Roman on Vimeo.

  • 3D – Perils of Parallel Parking

A 3D short that I’m sure everyone can relate to. This is why people don’t parallel park. Parallel Parking from Yum Yum London on Vimeo.

  • 3D – Killing your Co-workers by Flying Lotus

This video starts off kind of cutesy and abstract, and then doubles that by the end. Flying Lotus – Kill Your Co-Workers from beeple on Vimeo.

  • Short Film – Sintel

An amazing short film from the open source 3D modeling program called Blender. They’ve come a long way since the program’s inception and it has improved dramatically. The rendering and animation are far above almost anything else I’ve posted this year. If you haven’t watched any 3D shorts on here so far, do yourself a…

  • 3D – Fallen

A 3D short from a group in Germany. It’s rather short and doesn’t have any real dialogue, though there is the Portal ending theme during the beginning. This is on par with a Pixar short if you ask me. Fallen from Sascha Geddert on Vimeo.

  • Trailer – Robot

It’s hard to believe that Bollywood could outdo itself given it’s range of ridiculous films already, but once again I was amazed by the premise and random snippets of this film already. It’s part Terminator, part Kung Fu Hustle, and part musical.

  • 3D – 8Bits

A wonderful collaboration of 3D and 2D graphics paying tribute to the evolution of video games and 3D. It’s a bit long but probably the best quality 3D animation I’ve seen in a while. Definitely turn it on HD if you can.

  • 3D – Fractals

A very neat video taking you through a Mandelbox, which you can read all about here if you are interested in such an abstract mathematical construct.

  • 3D – Star Wars: Solo Adventures

This is a Star Wars fan film detailing the adventures of Han Solo and how he got on Jabba’s bad side. The animation quality is fun and while it’s not Harrison Ford voicing Solo, the dialogue is spot on. It’s a definite fan-service and not the most interesting but is pretty good for a 5…

  • Trashed Idea – 3D girl speed bump

That, my friends, is a 3D painting of a girl for a speed bump. From Canadia. In what sounds like a terrifying experience, the girl’s elongated form appears to rise from the ground as cars approach, reaching 3D realism at around 100 feet, and then returning to 2D distortion once cars pass that ideal viewing…

  • 3D – The Monk and the Monkey

While the dialogue and premise are pretty weak, this short 3D animation does have some wonderful color and character design. It’s been a while since I’ve posted a good 3d short. The Monk & The Monkey from Brendan Carroll on Vimeo.

  • Animation – Spots v Stripes

Cadbury is putting together a promotion for the London Olympics called Spots vs Stripes. People are asked to choose a side and participate in random activities to collect points prior to the 2012 Olympics. I don’t really care about the contest, but the promo video is pretty funny and well animated.

  • 3D – Pixels by Patrick Jean

This is pretty popular right now but there are two different versions. One is an ominous setting where innocent pixels of our past begin to swarm and take over New York to eventually the world. The other version has a rap song to it that really destroys the appeal of the first. I have posted…
