Fighting the norm

So I decided yesterday, rather impulsively, that I need a break from TV and games. I’ve been sucked into the world of Borderlands for over a week now, and I’m very close to beating it. But I recently realized that I allow this stuff to absorb a bit too much of my life right now. I’ve been unmotivated to play with the drums, work on 3D, read a book, etc. etc. I believe this largely stems from my TV & video game addiction.

This isn’t like a permanent lifestyle change we are talking about here. This is more of a temporary fix to get some priorities back into place. I’m hoping to get through these things: 1) Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, 2) House of Leaves, 3) Catch-22, 4) get into a regular drum routine, 5) get into a regular workout routine, 6) finish at least 1 3D project, 7) write at least 3 reviews for the site. I am giving myself a 1 month hiatus on games and TV, starting yesterday. I will still be watching the random internet videos to keep the site up to date. So Trashed Ideas shouldn’t be affected by any of this. If anything, the review portion might become a more regular part of the lineup, which would be a good thing, right?

To my gaming and TV fans, I will prematurely apologize for this change. I will miss gaming with certain folks during this time, but it’s something I feel the need to do. So here’s to November 26th. Hopefully.

I’m really glad to hear this but that’s because I assume this is what you really want. And I’ll look forward to the reviews.

I know I have to do something besides reading reddit and playing games in a day or I just hate myself. Sometimes I hate myself anyway, yay! Seriously though, just be careful you don’t swing too far the other way. I never feel like I get enough done anymore. One of these days I’ll have to find the middle, where reasonable self-expectations and goals lie.

You’re more than welcome to come over and read with us or just have dinner sometime. We won’t accept not seeing you for a month. In fact, I’d really like to see you this weekend. Because this week is raping me. <2 <3 and <4
    You deserve it all.

I’m doing my best. I know once the month is over I will probably spend a week “catching up”, but then again maybe not. I’ve just let laziness take over inspiration and I need to fix it. This seems like a sure fire method, if all goes according to plan.
I had no intentions of not seeing you for a month, sir. In fact I had considered that my hang-outage ratio with everyone might rise exponentially given the circumstances. I’ve been invited a few places for Halloweeny so far, but I’m sure we will see each other this weekend. I will make it happen.
I wanted to make a joke about a hooker named Ruby raping you, since it’s Tuesday and all, but I think that the joke is entirely too convoluted to be funny. So instead, <10.
