Edit: It seems the interwebs can’t have enough breast milk these days. To compliment the Breast Milk Ice Cream video (which is now hidden after the jump) are two other uses of ice cream. The first being a story of a chef using his wife’s for cheese.
I’ll admit that when I think of fast food, I don’t think of the mascots on a crazy coke-induced night of debauchery and craziness, but I guess some people do. Done by Nicholaus Goossen, director of Grandma’s Boy.
DJ Ruth Flowers just thinks it’s awesome to see the kids having fun in clubs. So much so she has dawned the DJ moniker and is now rocking out in the UK. Best grandma ever.
So an indie-developer has created an 8-bit top down game reminiscent of Zelda. While none of that is new, the underlying mechanic is amazing. Rather than using a conventional controller to do battle, a microphone is attached to the game. Pitch and volume are your weapons and oh the weapons they shall be.
Here’s something I bet you never thought of. A guy is campaigning to make it legal to use death row inmates organs for transplants. This actually makes a lot of sense, but it’s apparently been shot down in court despite requests from the inmates themselves.
Female shoppers, be warned. Underwear at many major outlets is apparently tainted. A news team recently went undercover to reveal that returned used underwear is immediately re-tagged and put back out on the shelves. As a golden rule you should always wash your underwear, but this is creepy.
A group is putting together a funeral for IE6 given a recent announcement from Google stating they were pulling support for the browser from their applications.
Internet Explorer Six, resident of the interwebs for over 8 years, died the morning of March 1, 2010 in Mountain View, California, as a result of a workplace injury sustained at the headquarters of Google, Inc. Internet Explorer Six, known to friends and family as “IE6,” is survived by son Internet Explorer Seven, and grand-daughter Internet Explorer Eight.
This video is starting to gain notoriety so I knew it was only a matter of time before it got it’s own site. Check out one of the greatest lyric-based songs in the world.
So I don’t find SNL that funny anymore, and to be honest Funny or Die really is hit and miss. However, I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic as I watch this video of amazing stars take on their old roles. Lineup includes: Carrey, Carvey, Ferrell, Chase, Akroyd and Hammond. Do enjoy a reunion of classics.
You may have heard or seen some of Remi Gilliard’s videos on the internet. He’s become the prank king of our generation. If you don’t believe me, check out all of the other crap he’s done. His latest video is more subtle than his early ridiculousness, but short and sweet and OHMYGOD WHAT IS THAT RABBIT DOING TO THAT MAN?!
I’ve never really considered cockatiels anything more than bad-tasting chicken, despite my mother’s affection towards her cockatiel. However, anyone who can teach an animal to do this is automatically awesome and the animal itself should be given a Noble peace prize.
So NASA is prototyping a one-man plane. Technical mumbo below. While the idea itself isn’t necessarily a trashed idea, the video with it is questionable.
Conceptual design focusing on the ability of a redundant electric propulsion system to provide new capabilities for Vertical Takeoff and Landing aircraft. Specifically utilizing electric motor variable rpm to accomplish a low tipspeed prop-rotor (400 ft/sec tip speed at hover and 200 ft/sec at cruise) to accomplish an order of magnitude reduction in community noise for close proximity operations (30-40 db reduction). The variable rpm capability also achieves a 25% improvement in prop-rotor efficiency through operation at optimal advance ratios.
I stated on my last OK Go post that they had done one other song that wasn’t quite the same quality. Well, apparently OK Go recognized that and decided to give it another go. They remade the video for This Too Shall Pass and far surpassed their previous efforts. Go them.
So I learned something today. Whoopi Goldberg apparently has a bladder control issue. She brings it up often. Apparently the bladder control issue is one that 1 in 3 women suffer from. She has also started a small campaign to bring awareness of this issue. I had heard of the issue prior to this, but that’s because I’m an internet troll. However, her approach to discussing the issue leaves me wondering what the hell.
Hadn’t heard of Hold Your Horses! until I saw this video and I was taken aback by it. The video revolves around playfully recreating many famous paintings throughout history. The band is a Franco-American group consisting of eight individuals and describe themselves as bluegrass.
In recent years, tilt-shift camera operation has become a more common practice. It is very interesting to me because of the scaling it does. When I grew up, I used to watch movies and I would watch the way objects moved. Based upon the acceleration and scaling, I could pretty easily figure out what was miniature set vs. real life. Tilt-shift recreates this look in magnificent detail, making real life boats and planes look like toys. It’s really a spectacle if you haven’t seen it. I find this video to be one of the most enjoyable I’ve seen.
I have two videos involving music and love today. One is adorable, the other is ridiculous. The first is a video of a 90 year old couple playing a duet on the piano. It’s so adorable you may eat your own hand.
Secondly we have an epic auto-tune love song from Wilbur Sargunaraj. I found this hilarious given it’s a song against arranged marriages and the production quality is way better than it should be. I mean just look at all those transition effects.
